Journaling does not get enough credit. For me, journaling is a beautiful release because it's not often that you can say everything that comes to mind. And sometimes it's better that you don't because a moment of anger can change a lot.

So we write.

It doesn't have to be a lengthy activity. Perhaps commit to starting with a set time i.e. 2-5 minutes or writing a sentence every day. Chances are you will write longer and more than a sentence but the point is not to make it feel overwhelming.

It's supposed to be helpful, not stressful.

As you put your pen to paper and write without censoring you'll notice that by the time you get to the end, you feel better. And if you choose to read what you wrote chances are after hearing it all over again initial emotion has already lost its effect.

If you don't know where to start or what to journal about consider topics such as

  • Gratitude

  • How your day went

  • An unresolved issue

  • A personal concern

  • Future goals or plans

  • Your current mood

I'll add questions in most if not all posts for you to connect to your truth in different ways.

Journaling is one that I discovered a lot about what I like, don't like, and need to make peace with. I'm extending an invitation to you to create a daily ritual of journaling for self-reflection and self-love.
