Cat's Eye Gemstone

Recently while scrolling on IG I saw a post that recommended the gemstone Cat's Eye because of it's healing properties. So I thought I'd write about it from a planetary perspective.

Cat's Eye can be used for grounding, protection, luck, and intuition among other things. In Vedic Astrology, crystals and gems are sometimes prescribed to remedy certain afflictions or weaknesses after a horoscope is assessed.

The shadowy planet of Ketu brings you inward. Where ever Ketu is in a chart may be the area where we are most detached from the material world. In terms of Cat's Eye, this gemstone is associated with the nodes Rahu & Ketu, more specifically Ketu the South Node/ body or tail end of the Naga Swarbanu.

According to mythology, Swarbanu was the demon serpent that ruled the Patala Loka [underworld]. In the myth, Swarbanu drank a drop of the Amrita [immortal nectar] rendering him-well... immortal.

So this gemstone is highly potent.

Of course you can absolutely wear what you want. However if you're not 100% sure if Cat's Eye is right for you then there are multiple alternatives. As a rule of thumb darker crystals or gemstones are helpful for cleansing and protection. While clear quartz, and crystals in blues and purple hues aid in psychic abilities meaning clarity and expansiveness. Crystals and other metaphysical tools are meant for restorative purposes and must be used for good intentions.
