How To Cleanse Your Aura

Updated: Sep 21, 2023

When your aura is bright and inviting, it often emits a noticeable "glow" that can be perceived or sensed. A vibrant and powerful aura typically signifies a strong connection between your mind, body, and spirit and a healthy energy flow.

Strong auras generally radiate soft colors, golden tones, or even colors like hues of purple, etc. Think of the glow of a pregnant mother that is bright, expansive, and beaming with "life." In such a case, we know why she is glowing. For everyone else, unpacking negative emotions creates a natural internal glow that also radiates.

What Is Your Aura

There are several layers of the auric field. These appear different, store different information, and have a specific function. Each layer is associated with a different chakra, going from the gross [dense] to the spiritual level.

As your aura extends outward a few feet [anywhere from 6-12 inches or more] from your physical body, flow or lack of flow of energy interacts with the environment in various ways. In the same way, thoughts and ideas are shared energetically.

As mentioned above, lighter colors can indicate a stronger aura, while darker/ heavier energy, smoothness of the atmosphere, or debris can also be observed.

Additionally:

  • tears

  • holes

  • hooks

  • armor

  • prickly edges

  • discolorations

  • uneven symmetry

  • energy leaks

You may not see these things in yourself or others, but in some instances, you can feel them. You can practice "feeling" energy through body scans and noting areas with different temperatures, sensations, etc.

You have experienced variations of energy many times. Think of someone who gives off a prickly feel that causes you to step back or when the hairs on your arms raise in a not-so-good way when engaging with another being. Or feeling drained after a conversation but don't know why. Perhaps something is going on in the auric field that doesn't resonate with you.

Energy Givers Vs. Energy Takers

In self-care, some things add to our well-being and reinforce a healthy aura, while others do the opposite. Below are a few things that deplete your energy and eventually affect your aura.

How To Cleanse Your Aura

What does your aura say about you? Of course, life happens, and at any moment, we can be faced with something to work through that may affect how we show up.

This is even more of a reason to find a way that works for you to cleanse your aura or auric field. Cleansing will help the mental blocks that cause the body to hold any repressed feelings, thought forms, experiences, and pain in place to release the emotions. Breathing exercises. Ways to cleanse include but are not limited to:

  • meditation

  • Salt and herbal baths

  • Cleansing with the elements

  • reiki

  • massage

The best way to keep your aura strong and healthy along with a conscious lifestyle is by not holding on to negative emotions. We can do everything, but if the heart is not right, we will not have peace. So whenever you become aware of a misunderstanding, ask your higher self to see the situation or the person in front of you lovingly. Make amends [whether the person is in front of you or not] and affirm that you are willing to let go of the emotion tied to the experience, i.e., anger, sadness, etc. Add "may [the person] be well" so that way you are not "matching" negative energy.

I also want to make mention of the Water experiment by Japanese Researcher Dr. Masaru Emoto. Dr. Emoto depicted how thoughts, words, and vibrations can alter the molecular structure of water. Dr. Emoto typed different words taped to cups of water and frozen overnight. What he observed under his microscope the next day was how each word changed the structure of the water significantly. The water with positive words was "thank you," "love," and "gratitude," and the water with negative words, such as "you make me sick," was observed as less radiant, cohesive, and more distorted. So, this is an example of how water binds and mirrors emotions and shows how energy works on subtle levels within us. We can only imagine how accumulating specific thoughts over time can manifest into current-day reality.

Generally, we are made of 75% water, so we speak to our "inner water" unconsciously daily. And on certain days of the month, different moon phases affect our water content. Even more, what we consume through food and content may further affect us more or less. For those reasons, staying hydrated is the simplest way to balance your emotions and meditation. Those two practices alone can remove any sticky residue, stagnant emotions, and dryness from actions past and present.

Practice

Cleansing or transforming your energy is a process and a top-tier form of self-care.

Try this simple practice along with your daily self-care routine to emotionally fortify yourself even more:

  • Stand with your feet firmly planted

  • Take a deep breath in

  • At the same time, extend your arms out to the side' with palms facing up above your head

  • Gather heavenly Chi [abundant all around you] by opening your palms [as if to receive]

  • Exhale, lower your hands in front of you to let the energy wash down over you from your crown to your feet

  • Repeat this at least three times

  • Smile to yourself and express gratitude

Small steps daily create long-lasting change.

Be well.
