Discovering The Silver Lining In Your Mistakes

Updated: Sep 20

I recall my school days when I admired a friend or someone else and wished to be more like them. On the flip side, I wanted to be less like myself. It's common for most children to experience this comparison problem, especially during puberty, when everything seems strange to them.

Suppose you've been lucky not to stress over skin color, clothing size, hair type, finances, popularity, family, etc. In that case, you're a rare individual because everyone is dealing with something. No one is exempt.

I understand that comparing ourselves to others is natural today, even for adults, since everything is displayed on social media. So, anyone can feel like they are not enough in some way.

It's essential to have a strong sense of self and self-compassion and recognize that everyone has value in some way. When we lack these things, we do ourselves a disservice. Finding contentment with who you are, what you have, and who you are not is the path to peace.

Looking back, I realize that my mistake was not seeing myself sooner.

We are programmed to want what we don’t have. Simply watching television for a few minutes exposes us to advertisements that dictate how we should aspire to look and act. Furthermore, factors outside our front door continue to fuel the conditioning. It's all programming to keep us looking in every direction except within.

And that is the design of the matrix.

So, my biggest mistake was not knowing that I am enough. It was not knowing who I am and whose I am. It was not knowing what real happiness, joy, or safety was- now I get it a little more. I can tell you it gets better in my post because it does.

You can activate your superpower after completing the lesson or acknowledging your mistakes.

You'll see.
